BIGBANG explain why it took 8 years to release a full-length album

BIGBANG sat down with media outlet Newsis on December 13 to discuss their latest album and why it took so long to release this highly anticipated album!
The group gathered for the interview at the YG Entertainment building, and G-Dragon kicked off the interview by saying, “We are happy that our music is loved every time, but we also worry how to make the next album.”
He continued, “The next album is always our biggest worry. Thanks to everyone who love our music, we haven’t failed yet, but we think it’s love we don’t deserve. But we have the desire to continue [the success]. As musicians, we also have a desire to make better albums.”
G-Dragon also explained why the full-length album took 8 years since the release of their last studio album ‘Remember’ back in 2008. He said that the album should’ve been completed last year. “Last year, we thought that the album was lacking in many ways…For us, it’s not bad that it took 8 years,” he added. G-Dragon also explained that they are perfectionists and that is why an additional year was added until completion.
The members said that they realized that it had been 8 years only recently. “We have no sense of time. We just keep going forward. These days, we do a tour, go to sleep, and wake up and have no idea where we are. We are continuously moving, so we don’t have a lot of full-length albums,” G-Dragon explained.
But the group apologized that they postponed the release but said that they are happy to be back!
