The men’s shows have wrapped in Paris, where they ushered in a new sense of modern formality. But while suiting proved to be a popular option for lots of fashionable front row attendees, so was a fresh take on streetwear, where classic tailoring met athletic influence. The City of Light brought out the boldest names in music, television, and film, all showcasing their own individual tastes and flair on the front  row.

Some gentlemen opted to return to an Ocean’s Eleven–esque vibe with natty, navy suits punctuated with fun accessories. A$AP Rocky offset his version with a collarless shirt and hybrid mountain shoes whose laces perfectly coordinated with the toggles on his slicker. Also forgoing a tie was Jurassic World’s Nick Robinson, who put a youthful spin on the style with cool white sneakers. Meanwhile, Louis Garrel and K-pop star T.O.P also distinguished themselves from the pack—the French film actor accented his demure suit with a printed tie, and the Korean musician added a floral boutonniere and white, thick-soled monk straps to lighten up his look. Mr. Robot actor Rami Malek amped up the modern glamour of a dark shirt in an appealing take on a classic windowpane suit.

However, it wasn’t all buttoned-up in the front rows. Streetwear, albeit with a refined approach, dominated on everyone from Alexandre Arnault to Victor Cruz. Arnault elevated the schoolboy-favorite toggle coat with a tweedy material while keeping cool in skinny trousers and pirate black Yeezy 350s. The Revenant’s Will Poulter worked a similar palette, while focusing on clean lines and tailored outerwear paired with fresh kicks. Showing how to rock the new look of the bomber were Chinese singer and actor Jing Bo Ran and Creed’s Michael B. Jordan. Both donned different versions from Louis Vuitton, with Jing opting for a satin, embroidered jacket while Jordan went for a sportier approach.

But leave it to Travis Scott and Victor Cruz to truly up the ante on winter style. As the East Coast braved Winter Storm Jonas, the two gents pulled out posh puffers and joined Riccardo Tisci’s squad. Scott’s star motif reinforced the notion of his A-list status, while Cruz showed his stars and stripes in a one-note look. With the couture collections just beginning in Paris, it appears the ladies are facing some stiff competition from the gents.
