SEUNGRI Comments “Unlike YG, most agencies go gently on their trainees, but it’s not good”

[헤럴드POP=이호연 기자] BIGBANG’s SEUNGRI talks about the basis of his deliberation on MIXNINE.

At the MIXNINE press conference that was held at the Imperial Palace in Seoul at 2 PM on October 27, Zion.T and SEUNGRI explained their role in JTBC’s new audition program MIXNINE.

Zion.T, who is a special judge on the show, said, “I’ve never been a trainee, so I’ve been thinking hard about what kind of help I could give to the contestants as a judge. The trainees made me realize a lot of things. I think I could help them in setting the direction of their music as a singer and a music writer.”

BIGBANG’s SEUNGRI said candidly, “Mr. Yang and I have talked with the trainees with for about three or four hours at each entertainment agency. Unlike YG, most agency heads love and cherish their trainees as if they are their children and go gently on them. But I don’t think this is good for the trainees.”

He went on to say, “I told them about my experience as a BIGBANG member. Mr. Yang also gave them a lot of sound advice too. The purpose of MIXNINE is not to audition but to diagnose. To find a variety of talented people, I tried to eliminate YG style from my head when I deliberated.”

MIXNINE is a new type of survival audition program by YANG HYUN SUK and HANG DONG CHUL. It premieres at 4:50 PM on October 29.
