[Exclusive] GD will fill the vacancy of BIGBANG… G-DRAGON will make a solo comeback in the first half

[TV리포트=김예나 기자] Fans will not be able to complete team of BIGBANG for some time, but there will be a comfort for them. BIGBANG’s leader G-DRAGON (GD) is now planning to make a solo comeback in the first half of this year.

According to the music industry insiders recently, G-DRAGON is now concentrating on the work for his new album. G-DRAGON writes songs constantly in his everyday life, so he will come back as soon as the new album is completed, rather than setting a specific date for comeback.

Insiders said that G-DRAGON will also hold a solo concert along with the release of his solo album. Therefore, the date of G-DRAGON’s solo comeback will be determined in accordance with his plans.

G-DRAGON said in BIGBANG’s 10th anniversary concert held in August this year, “You’ll not be able to complete team of BIGBANG for some time, but we’ll come back to you in different forms. We’ll work even harder”, hinting on BIGBANG members’ solo and unit comeback.

G-DRAGON debuted as the leader of BIGBANG in 2006. He has released solo album “HEARTBREAKER” in 2009, “One of a Kind” in 2012, and then “COUP D’ETAT” in 2013. In 2009 and 2013, he hosted solo concerts, enjoying enormous popularity comparable to that of the complete team of BIGBANG.

G-DRAGON has always drawn keen attention for every solo comeback, by presenting shockingly bold style and music. Music fans are already paying keen attention to what kind of picture G-DRAGON’s first solo project in four years which is carried out in the first year of GD’s thirties, will present.

BIGBANG continues to conquer our chart with their two hit songs “FXXK IT” and “LAST DANCE,” occupying the No. 1 and 2 spots again this week. These two songs are still well ahead of the competition, with “FXXK IT” winning on “Inkigayo” and “M!Countdown” last week. Congratulations again to BIGBANG!

There are no new songs in the top 10 this week, which is normal for the early part of the year as most artists are taking a break following busy year-end activities. The only song to re-enter the top 10 was BTS’s “Blood Sweat & Tears.”
