[Article] [YG Life] BIGBANG To Make a Comeback on the 5th of April -> Title-song ‘STILL LIFE’…YG “Represents the Past of 4 Members”
[OSEN=이승훈 기자] The title of BIGBANG’s new song (G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, T.O.P, DAESUNG) has been unveiled amid their comeback on the 5th of April.
According to YG Entertainment on the morning of 24th, the title of their new song is ‘STILL LIFE’.
The title isn’t particularly special, but it holds so much significance since it’s BIGBANG. Curiosity is drawn as to what kind of emotions and messages they will portray into the song, since their comeback comes after passing by 4 winters.
A lot of artists have used ‘four seasons’ as the theme of their artistic work. It was used to metaphorically describe the joys and sadness of life, and the nature of how life unfolds.
YG said “’Still Life’ is a song that portrays the members’ past time by implication”. They then added “It contains their sincere music and messages.”
The song’s title, whose original Korean title is “April, Summer, Autumn and Winter”, already holds so much meaning. It captures the moment of silence by drawing on the paused time of a live being.
The title poster also reminded the audience of a still-picture drawing. Daisy flowers which represent ‘hope’ were in full bloom in white, pink, yellow, and red, drawing the attention of viewers.
Fans expressed their expectations by sharing different interpretations between the four seasons ‘April, Summer, Autumn, and Winter’, four different colored flowers, and 4 members.
Meanwhile, BIGBANG’s new song ‘Still Life’ will be released at 12AM on the 5th of April. Not only does this comeback comes after 4 years since ‘Flower Road’ in 2018, but even more attention is being drawn to their comeback as most of the members had previously taken part in the lyrics and composition process, and shaped the overall popular music culture overtime.

MANILA, Philippines – VIPs, the countdown begins! K-pop powerhouse BIGBANG finally announced the date for their long-awaited return.
The group’s agency, YG Entertainment, unveiled on Monday, March 21, the first teaser for BIGBANG’s upcoming release. The photo shows a black polaroid against a white background, with text noting a midnight release on April 5.
No other details were shared and it remains unclear whether the highly-anticipated release is a digital single or an album.
YG Entertainment first confirmed BIGBANG’s comeback plans in February, alongside the announcement that member T.O.P has left their agency.
The upcoming song marks BIGBANG’s first group release since their digital single “Flower Road” was released in March 2018. Since then, Seungri has left the group and retired from showbiz, while the remaining members, G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, and Daesung have all finished their mandatory military service.
Originally a five-member group, BIGBANG made their debut in August 2006. The group is known for their hits “BANG BANG BANG,” “Fantastic Baby,” and “Loser.” Their last album, MADE, was released in 2016.

BIGBANG have shared an official release date for their forthcoming comeback project.
At midnight KST today (March 21), YG Entertainment and the four members of the K-pop boyband uploaded a teaser image for the group’s long-awaited comeback, which is set to be released next month. The as-yet-unnamed release will be BIGBANG’s first new music in four years, since their 2018 song ‘Flower Road’.
“BIGBANG 0AM APR 05 2022,” reads the poster, which features a blank polaroid picture. While the upcoming release is set to arrive at midnight on April 5, it is unclear which timezone it is referring to. Further details, such as the format of the release and title of the project, are expected in the coming days.
Last week, the agency also confirmed that all four members of the band had recently wrapped up a shoot for their new music video. “BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P and Daesung recently completed filming the music video for their new song,” wrote YG, which added that the group’s preparations were “progressing smoothly.”
YG Entertainment first announced the boyband’s highly-anticipated return last month, where it also revealed member T.O.P. had left the agency. Despite the end of the rapper’s contract with the company, YG confirmed that T.O.P remains a member of BIGBANG and will be involved in the upcoming release.
However, the rapper has since hinted that the upcoming project might be the final release featuring him for the foreseeable future. “In the last few years, I was starting to think that maybe this was the end, and maybe there won’t be T.O.P of BIGBANG for a while,” he said
recently.
Earlier this year, Seungri had his prison sentence reduced to 18 months from the original three years after reportedly pleading guilty to all charges brought against him. Prior to his January 27 trial, the singer had vehemently denied all charges and his involvement in the Burning Sun scandal in all his previous hearings.

In February, BIGBANG’s label YG Entertainment announced that the band would be releasing new music sometime this year.
Then, earlier this week, YG Entertainment confirmed to a South Korean media outlet that all four members of the band had wrapped up filming a new music video. “BIGBANG’s G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P and Daesung recently completed filming the music video for their new song. BIGBANG’s comeback preparations are progressing smoothly. We will inform you of the release date as well as further details on the new song soon,” the statement read, translated by Soompi.
The single would mark BIGBANG’s first release in four years, the last time fans heard music from the group being 2018’s “Flower Road.”
