CHOI SEUNG HYUN in “Tazza: The High Rollers 2”, Next-Generation Forerunner for Hwatu in Chuseok Holidays!

-    CHOI SEUNG HYUN’s innocence + vengeance + loyalty… “acting Tazza with his own color!”

BIGBANG member T.O.P has come back as actor CHOI SEUNG HYUN with remarkable growth recently, one year after his previous movie “Commitment” (directed by Park Hong Soo), a 2013 movie in which he built recognition as the next forerunner in Korean film scene.

CHOI is coming back to the screen as “Dae Ghil” in film “Tazza: The High Rollers” (directed by Kang Hyung Chul) that is released today (Sep. 3). CHOI’s character “Dae Ghil” is a man who became a professional hwatu(gambling card game which originated in Japan) gambler by entering a gambling house located in Gangnam, Seoul, with his outstanding dexterity and strong desire of winning that resemble that of his uncle “Gonnie” (acted by Choi Seung Woo).

“Dae Ghil” comes to meet “Gonie”’s partner “Ko Kwang Ryul” (acted by Yoo Hae Jin), absolute evil loan shark “Jang Dong Sik” (acted by Kwak Do Won), legendary gambler “Akwi” (acted by Kim Yoon Suk) and so on in the world of gambling where there is no eternal friend or enemy, to risk his life for victory.

CHOI perfectly acted the process of “Dae Ghil”’s growth into a professional gambler from an innocent boy who always wants to win. He expresses “Dae Ghil”’s life full of ups and downs, showing weakness of innocent boy and the vengeance, betrayal, and loyalty of him. His intense but detailed expression of gambler’s life and passionate acting with tears is expected to resonate with movie fans.

Internet users who watched the film at preview held on the 25 last month (Mon.) in Lotte Cinema located in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, gave a lot of favorable responses including, “The color of ‘Dae Ghil’ worn by CHOI SEUNG HYUN is so fresh”, “CHOI’s acting evolves day after day”, “The final match between Akwi and Dae Ghil is really overwhelming”, “CHOI SEUNG HYUN’s perfect body stood out beside the actresses”, “This is the movie to watch during Chuseok holidays”, etc.

“Tazza: The High Rollers” is a movie version of the part 2 of Heo Young Man’s cartoon “Tazza” series. Director of the movie, “Kang Hyung Chul”, has directed mega hits such as “Speed Scandal” (2008) and “Sunny” (2011), and he will create another sensation with “Tazza 2”, with a new color different from “Tazza 1”. Director Kang explained, “In this story of Dae Ghil’s growth from ‘novice’ into ‘Midas’s hand’ in the gambling world, you can see pretty much all genres”.

Meanwhile, “Tazza: The High Rollers” filled with variety of characters, an interesting plot, and colorful spectacles is expected to draw many people to movie theaters during the upcoming Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) holiday.
