VOTE: Which K-Celebrity Dating Revelation of 2015 Was the Most Surprising?

2015 is almost coming to an end but what a year it has been for Korean celebrities’ relationship revelations!

Idols, especially, are usually quite secretive about their romantic relationships because of the relationships that they have with their fans, where fans view idols as their personal oppas. Idols love to give fans this fan service, with idols like Super Junior‘s Eunhyuk writing to us from his army camp, treating us like his girlfriend, and G-Dragon conducting his V App program like he would Facetime his lover.

However, the tide seems to have changed this year, with multiple celebrities being spotted by Dispatch and fairly quickly admitting to being in a relationship. Which relationships were some of the most surprising to come out this year?

Lee Seung Gi and YoonA were the first to openly confirm that they were dating this year. This was a surprising move by the entertainment companies involved to acknowledge the high profile couple so candidly, and started off 2014 with a BIGBANG.

Lee Seung Gi had identified YoonA to be his ideal type multiple times so it was sweet to m get together. Sadly, they have recently broken up.

It is a shipper’s world when a couple that has strong chemistry in the activities that they have together turns out to be dating in real life. Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah first showed affection to each other in their Giordano photoshoot in 2014.

Nobody seemed to think too much about their casual chemistry though, so there was some surprise when the relationship was declared, especially since Shin Min Ah is five years older than Kim Woo Bin. Many were also probably still suffering from second male lead syndrome with Kim Woo Bin’s flawless portrayal of his love for Park Shin Hye in “The Heirs.” Nevertheless, we got treated to a lovely CF showing off Kim Woo Bin and Shin Min Ah’s intimacy for Giordano again this year!

The boys of BIGBANG have hardly been known to admit to relationships, though reports of G-Dragon and Kiko Mizuhara continue to fly about our heads.

Therefore it was quite a surprise when Taeyang and Min Hyo Rin admitted in June to have been dating for two years after meeting on the set of Taeyang’s “1AM” music video shoot. Looking back, it’s hard to think why we didn’t expect it to happen; just look at that sizzling chemistry!

IU, the nation’s little sister, is all grown up now! IU had previously been rumored to have romantic relations with other stars such as Eunhyuk and Lee Hyun Woo, so many did not expect that she would be dating Jang Ki Ha, whom she did not have any obvious associations with.

We were even more surprised when it was revealed that it was love at first sight for IU after meeting Jang Ki Ha on his radio show and that she has been dating him for two years since then!

This relationship was a particularly scandalous revelation. Choiza and Sulli were initially rumored to be together but they denied the reports. However, Choiza’s wallet was later picked up by an unknown source and photos of Sulli were found inside.

This sent shockwaves through the the netizen community who reeled from coping with the initial denial to the uncovering of this undeniable proof of their relationship. The backlash was rather severe, causing Sulli to have to take a year of hiatus from her promotional activities.

And then we have Lee Min Ho and Suzy.

This relationship came flying out of the left field, like many of the others here, with photos of their clandestine meetings suddenly surfacing on Dispatch. Signs of the power couple were scarce, considering Lee Min Ho and Suzy had never been in any activities together. Up until today, the circumstances as to how they got to know each other remain hazy, although reports have stated that Lee Min Ho was the one to approach Suzy.
