10 Guy/Girl K-Pop Collab Stages That Will Leave You Wanting More
Back in the day, K-pop experienced a surge of exciting collaborations between second-generation male and female idols (both solo and groups). While it’s hard to see as many of these mixed stages nowadays, we still manage to witness an awesome selection of these kinds of collaborations during the award show season.
From past to present, here are 10 guy/girl K-pop stages that have us eager to see more performances of the sort!
1. BIGBANG X Lee Hyori
If you’re familiar with BIGBANG or Lee Hyori, you’ll know that they are avid fans of one another. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Mnet KM Music Festival (now called the Mnet Asian Music Awards), Hyori and BIGBANG set the stage on fire for nearly 13 minutes when they showcased their respective top hits. Apart from the breathtaking performances, one particular moment that stunned the crowd was when rapper T.O.P kissed Hyori. This collaboration stage is iconic, and definitely one for the K-pop history books!
2. BIGBANG X Wonder Girls
This is BIGBANG’s second entry on the list, and it’s well-earned. Their explosive performance alongside Wonder Girls definitely had jaws dropping. From their one-on-one renditions of “Irony,” “Lies,” “Tell Me,” “Haru Haru,” and “Nobody” to their respective homages to “So Hot” and “Last Goodbye,” this is truly a stage to remember!

BIGBANG’s T.O.P met fans and fooled the media on military discharge day
BIGBANG‘s T.O.P has officially been discharged from the military.
The idol had his final day of work as a public servant on Saturday 6 July, and YG Entertainment has stated he will be making a quiet return.
On the day, T.O.P met fans who had come to see him on his last day of service, in a private fanmeet away from media. VIPs had even gone so far as to stage an elaborate prank, wherein they waited alongside media at a different meeting point, to make it seem like T.O.P would be giving an official statement to media. The idol chose to meet his fans instead.
In an Instagram post shared afterwards, he apologised to fans and thanked them for their support. He wrote in English: “Even though I am not proud of myself, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all the fans who made time and efforts to share this moment with me. I will make sure to reflect on myself and repay the hurts and disappointments I caused to you. Again, thank you. Until I see you again… love, T.O.P”.
Fans trended #LongTimeNoSeeTOP in the lead up to his discharge, with many sharing pictures from the fan meeting, as well as the media stop that never was.
Welcome back T.O.P!
