BIGBANG 2017 Update: Taeyang Writes To T.O.P. In Military, GD Grows Beard & More

Members of the biggest Korean hip hop boy band BIGBANG proved that life goes on even while one of them remains in training in the military. Hot balladeer Taeyang wrote he misses the oldest member and main rapper T.O.P, who’s in training with his troops in the military. Leader G-Dragon grows off a beard, Daesung snaps a photo with actor Kim Soo Roo while youngest member Seungri hints at a collaboration with WINNER’s Song Min Ho for his upcoming solo album.

The 28-year-old singer of “Eyes, Nose, Lips” reportedly sent a virtual letter for rapper-actor T.O.P. with the title “Hyung, I miss you.” According to BIGBANG Updates, the public can browse the titles of the virtual messages yet only recipients can open and read the content. More importantly, not everyone can send virtual letters. The 29-year-old enlisted in the military February 9 together with JYJ’s Junsu as conscripted policemen. Taeyang also wrote him a handwritten letter before and even made the oldest BIGBANG member cry with the words “I love you” because the “Turn It Up” rapper thought “it’s a phrase that is very hard for men to say to each other.”

The 28-year-old fashion icon G-Dragon, meanwhile, reveals Tuesday he’s been busy growing a beard. He posted a black and white selfie that captured his facial hair under a smirk and a dark-rimmed glasses. Fellow member Daesung, who’ll reportedly drop his first Japanese solo album “D-Day” in April, appeared together with actor Kim Soo Roo in a photo shared on the actor’s social media account. Seungri also plans to release a solo album and even hinted at working together with WINNER’s Song Min Ho.

The V.I.P.s caused an uproar recently as they accused BTS of copying BIGBANG again. This time BTS allegedly copied T.O.P.’s stage concept No Signal during their performance at the 6th Gaon Chart Music Awards. Gaon apologized for the controversy Thursday. “After checking with the outsourced production company that was responsible for the ceremony, we found that there was insufficient monitoring of the footage used for the performances, which resulted in the incident,” said Gaon on their official homepage, according to Soompi. “Furthermore, the company did not have a chance to thoroughly run the footage by BTS before the ceremony either. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience we have caused.”

Taeyang Misses T.O.P; Sends Letter To Bulletin Board Of Korea Army Training Center

TAEYANG IS OBVIOUSLY MISSING TOP.

Less than a month since BIGBANG‘s T.O.P started his military enlistment, other BIGBANG members seem to have a hard time coping with the absence of their eldest member.

Taeyang expressed his longing for his hyung by sending a letter to him via the “Letter Writing Corner” bulletin board of the Korea Army Training Center. The letter bore the title “Hyung, I miss you.”

Taeyang’s sweet gesture towards T.O.P got fans touched. A fan wrote, “Probably the reason Youngbae was MIA because he was too busy writing letters to TOP.”

One fan wrote that Taeyang’s inactivity in the past few days might be brought due to his yearning for T.O.P.

Another posted what Taeyang might have written on the letter.

Prior to the letter, fans noticed Taeyang liking an Instagram post of the instructions on how to send letters. “Now, he has written one and titled it, Hyung, I miss you,” posted one fan.

Aside from the BIGBANG member, actor Lee Dong Hwi reportedly also wrote letters for his good friend. The actor and BIGBANG member filmed ‘Tazza 2’ together. Lee Dong Hwi recounted during a ‘Radio Star’ episode about how T.O.P helped him at that time by giving him rides and welcoming him to his house.

Letters sent by T.O.P’s sister were spotted on the bulletin board as well.

The BIGBANG member is currently undergoing training at Nonsan Training Camp before officially starting his active duty. He will serve as a band agent specialist at Seoul Metropolitan Department. T.O.P will join Super Junior‘s DongHae and Siwon, as well as TVXQ‘s Changmin.

T.O.P began his military service last February 9 alongside JYJ‘s Junsu. Both idols are expected to be discharged on November 28, 2018.
