On February 24, BIGBANG played their last show of their recent Japanese tour. Entertaining over 55,000 fans at the Tokyo Dome, the group closed out their 4-city, 18-concert tour by amassing a total of 910,000 fans, a record for any artist performing in Japan. And that wasn’t even the only record they broke.

When you beat Michael Jackson, Madonna, Guns N’ Roses, Bon Jovi, Lady Gaga, and whoever else, you know you’re kind of a big deal. That’s exactly what BIGBANG did on their most recent tour of Japan, when they broke multiple records set by foreign artists that came before them. Performing to sold-out crowds in Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and finally Tokyo, they amassed a total of 910,000 fans in 18 shows, which is something no artist has ever done. Their dome (stadium) tour of Japan has taken place 3 years in a row, which is also a first. Their most recent album, the MADE series, which was released in Japan in early February and includes Japanese versions of songs “Loser,” “Bang Bang Bang,” and “If You,” sold 128,000 copies in the first week of release, also breaking a previous record. This most recent record-breaking Japan tour was part of a larger world tour, one that had them playing 32 cities in 13 countries, where a total of almost 1.5 million fans were in attendance. Without a doubt, BIGBANG is an international superstar act.

And scheduled for April in Japan is a 4-city, 27-event tour for the group’s fan club, and 750,000 loyal fans have already signed up. Looks like BIGBANG is on its way to breaking even more records in the years to come.
