BIGBANG’s Seungri explains why he shut down his idol academy business


 

BIGBANG‘s Seungri explained why he shut down his idol academy business on the January 4th episode of ‘Weekly Idol‘.

Jung Hyung Don commented, “Seungri charges so much for his business,” and Seungri responded, “I didn’t personally run it. However, I heard that my employees worked really hard. I ran a vocal and dance academy. A lot of idols have come from there,” naming WINNER‘s Kim Jin Woo and BTSj-hope.

He explained why he had to stop the venture, however, saying, “The teachers and students would end up liking each other, and I got calls from parents. That’s why I shut it down.”

BIGBANG was included in Forbes’s “30 Under 30 Music: Gallant, Bigbang, Daya, Logic And The Class Of 2017” list.

The list highlighted thirty singers, composers, lyricists, managers, and businessmen who are revolutionizing the global music industry.

BIGBANG stood toe to toe with the likes of famous R&B vocalist Gallant, rapper Logic, and R&B icon Jeremih.

In 2016, BIGBANG became the first Korean artists to be included in Forbes’s “Celebrity 100” and “The 30 Highest-Paid Celebrities Under 30” lists, being recognized for their contribution to the music industry.

BIGBANG will be holding their “BIGBANG10 THE CONCERT: 0.TO.10 FINAL IN SEOUL” concert on January 7 and 8.
