[동아닷컴=곽현수 기자] G-DRAGON has topped American Billboard’s world albums chart for two weeks in a row, for the first time for a Korean solo artist.

On June 19 (local time), American Billboard announced the ranking of G-DRAGON’s new solo album “KWON JI YONG” in an article titled, “G-Dragon Tops World Albums Chart for 2nd Week to Nearly Double Total U.S. Sales”.

According to Billboard, G-DRAGON’s new album “KWON JI YONG” recorded the sales of 4,000 copies last week and then 3,000 copies this week, to reach the sales of more than 7,000 copies in total. G-DRAGON topped the Billboard world albums chart announced on the 12 with the volume of sales of his new album for only one day.

Billboard said, “The achievement makes him the first solo K-pop artist and second K-pop act overall to have an album spend multiple weeks at No. 1 on the chart.”

32 experts share their thoughts on the most influential K-pop artists today. Who are your choices?

If you ask a group of K-pop fans who the most influential artists currently working, chances are you will get a variety of differing responses. In an attempt to answer that question once and for all, Korean media outlet Sports Seoul asked 32 agency executives and music experts within the K-pop industry for their thoughts on the most influential artists in K-pop today.
